I just finished reading 'What is Marriage?: Man and Woman : a Defense' and found it to be very enlightening. It does not aim to be a book about homosexuality but ends up speaking to the consequences of redefining marriage from between a man and a woman to something else. Extending the recognition of marriage to any people or group of people that have strong feelings for each other will have major consequences for society. The claim "it doesn't affect me, people should be able to get married no matter what the arrangement" is false because it will affect all of us. It will affect our basic freedoms such as our freedom of worship/religion.
On another matter, I would like to claim a real tangible benefit to praying together as a couple. It is especially touching when your spouse prays for you and gives thanks for your efforts in your family. This practice draws us closer together as a couple and closer to God. It reminds us of our accountability to Him which in turn affects our behavior. I am thankful for prayer.
